The Problem:-Every time I try to install rollup 2 it gives me a message that I need to have XP Media Center 2005,but I am already using Windows XP Media Center 2005.Resolution:-Start>Run>Regedit>OKNow navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center/IdentThe ident number should be 3.0.If not then change it.Restart.
There is also a cool utility -‘Media Center Ident Set’. This application allows you to set your Media Center systems ident value to any other releases version which used this flag, or set the value to what it should be automatically.Check it here how to:-
