What’s Trusteer Rapport?
Rapport is a lightweight security software solution that protects web communication between enterprises, such as banks, and their customers and employees.Many banks are pushing their customers to install this application.
Problem:-
The user complained :-
He has been trying very hard to set up an extender on his Win 7 (32-bit) Media Center, and it fails every time with the same errors Error: Access is denied.”It is followed by “Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed“.
What he did:-
He disabled firewall,UAC,gave full permission…but no joy!incidentally no XBOX 360 was installed prior to this incident.
What he found in the Event Log:-
Event 545 Media Center Extender
“Media Center Extender Setup cannot create an account for the Extender with ID:xxxxx…….,”
Also found the following:-
…couldn’t copy something from the …\Default\AppData\Local\Trusteer\Rapport\… folder
Resolution:-
So ultimately he uninstalled the online banking application and tried to add the extender and it was added without any hiccup further.So the bottom line is Trusteer Rapport somehow prevented him from adding the extender.
This is not a stray incident ,there are reports prior to this:-
As the user said that he didn’t face any issue with Sony Play Station 3 so this problem needs fixing.
