“Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings…” error

Problem:-

When I try and play a DVD my Windows Media Player comes up with an error message saying “Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings.”

Cause:-

It happens if WMP12 doesn’t have the supported file format codec to play the file.

Resolution:-

You need to:-

Download and install codecs from here:-

http://shark007.net/win7codecs.html

Or,

Try VLC Player:-

or,

Windows Media Player Classic:-
