Windows Media Player 12 constantly “Retrieving media info for an unknown album”

Problem:-

I am getting constant message “Retrieving media info for an unknown album”.I have noticed, however, that if I sort my library by artist, at the very bottom there is “Unknown” with 1 song under the heading of “Other.” This cannot be played and nothing happens when I try to delete it.How to fix?

Resolution:-

1. In the Start Search box type in: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and press the Enter Key.

2. Open Media Player Folder.

3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.

4. Restart WMP12.
