Problem:
Every time I try to open WMP 12 in Library mode it switches to “Now playing” mode immediately.How to fix?
Resolution:
Open C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories
Now locate Windows Media Player.
Right click on it and select Properties.
Click Shortcut tab and look at the Target box-if you get:
“%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe” /prefetch:1//Task:NowPlaying” then delete //Task:NowPlaying part.
Click OK.
If the above doesn’t help then you have to reset WMP 12.
Press Win + R keys to launch Run menu.
In the blank space type it down:OptionalFeatures.exe and press the Enter key
Uncheck the box against Media Features
Click OK and follow on screen instruction.
[Note: If you turn off WMP, Windows Media Center will be turned off ,so after turning on Media features you will have to reconfigure WMC also]
