My Experience with Installing Windows 10 Preview Build 15019

Introduction:

Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15019 for the Windows Insiders dedicated to the First Ring.

In this article Jason of Microsoft has already written about errors and issues when installing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15019.

My case:

My case was a different one as sited in above article.

I was trying to update my system from Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15014 to the latest 15019. The windows update successfully downloaded rs_prerelease 15019 and asked for a Restart to complete the upgradation.

After the restart I found the installation stuck at 10% for almost an hour. I got frustrated and did a manual reboot. The system went for a restoration to the earlier build.

So no luck…again back to Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15014.

I opened Settings -> Update & Security -> Check for updates

The system scanned for a while and again started downloading Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15019 and asked for a Restart to complete installation.

This time the installation stuck at 6%.

So no luck…again back to Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15014.

Unlike others I didn’t get any error, didn’t experience what others exactly  experienced.

But I realized there was something wrong with Windows Update as it forgot what it downloaded earlier after a restart.

So I stopped Windows Update Service. Yes, only Windows Update Service and not any other service as mentioned by other users.

To stop Windows Update service:

Type in services in the Start Search box and hit the Enter key.

Locate Windows Update service.

Right click on it select Stop.

This time no hang…system upgraded to Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15019.
