Notes
  • When you install the latest update, you’ll also get all the previous updates if your Surface doesn’t have them already. Only updates that apply to Surface will be downloaded and installed.
  • If you update the operating system on your Surface, your update history will be cleared.
  • Firmware updates can’t be uninstalled or reverted to an earlier version.
  • Updates are released in stages – not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but it’ll be delivered to all devices. If you haven’t received an update, select Start , then select Settings > Update & security > Windows Update.

Important update on Windows 10 Preview build 15031

Dona Sarkar has updated the following on Windows 10 Preview build 15031 in windows blog:

You may see “Initializing…” when attempting to download this build and the download progress indicator shown when downloading this build may seem broken under Settings > Update & security > Windows Update. It may look like you’re getting stuck at 0% or at other percentages. Ignore the indicator and be patient. The build should download fine, and the installation should kick off…

May be I was fortunate and didn’t experience such issue unlike the earlier preview build 15025.

Surface Pro 4 updates Released On 18th January

Microsoft has released the following updates on 18th January,2017 for Surface Pro 4. The updates will be downloaded and installed automatically. You can also do the same manually.

Step 1: Go to Start Windows logo , and select Settings > Update & security > Windows Update.
Step 2: Select Check for updates. Install any available updates.
Step 3: Select Restart now if prompted

Surface Pro 4 November 18th Update

When Surface updates are provided via the Windows Update service, they are delivered in stages to Surface customers. As a result, not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but the update will be delivered to all devices. If you have not received the update then please manually check Windows Update later.
