“no audio devices are installed” in Windows 10

Problem:

I am getting this pop up message “no audio devices are installed” and there is no sound either.

Resolution:

Open Settings

Update & Security

Troubleshoot

Playing Audio

Run the troubleshooter.

If the above doesn’t help then try the following:

Open Device Manager

Locate sound card driver

Right click to uninstall it.

Reboot

Let OS to detect the hardware.

Get connected with the internet and visit the website of sound card manufacturer or your system’s manufacturer to download and install the latest audio driver.

Window 10 app store is not working

Problem:

Windows 10 app store is not working. How to fix?

Resolution:

1] Open C:\Users<Insert Username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\

    Delete local cache folder.

    Recheck the issue.

 

2] Open PowerShell as Administrator  to re-register the new Store:

In PowerShell write the following command followed by pressing the Enter key.
   Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Windows 10: Fixing System Restore Error 0x80070091

Problem:

Details:
System Restore failed while restoring the directory from the restore point.
Source: AppxStaging
Destination: %ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80070091)

Resolution:

  • Boot into Safe mode.
  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type in the following commands followed by Enter Keys:

          •    cd C:\Program Files
             •    takeown /f WindowsApps /r /d Y
             •    icacls WindowsApps /grant “%USERDOMAIN%\%USERNAME%”:(F) /t
             •    attrib WindowsApps -h
             •    rename WindowsApps WindowsApps.old

  • Reboot.
  • Now recheck the issue.

After installing Windows 10 Creator Update Some Notebooks show Black Screens during closing and opening

Problem:

After installing the Windows 10 Creators Update the closing and opening of some notebooks  may end in black screens.

Resolution:

This is a graphic card driver related  issue. The laptops with  Nvidia GeForce graphic cards show this kind of behavior after installing Windows 10 Creator Update. Nvidia has come out with a fix. GeForce Hot Fix driver version 381.78 that addresses the following:

Fixes Windows 10 Creators Update booting to a black screen on certain notebooks

The updated display driver is also being released to the affected  devices through Windows Update
