Problem:
I just did a Clean install and updated to Windows 10 version 20H2,OS Build 19042.685. I also installed the Feature Update.
After sometimes my Windows Security center stopped working. Virus & Threat Protection was not with a green tick mark rather with a red cross.
So I started to analyze what went wrong….
- I have not installed any third party Antivirus , Installing 3rd party antivirus disables default Windows Security center.
- Checked Windows Security Service was running or not…found status Automatic but not running. When clicked to Start it gave me 1058 error.
- Ran SFC ….nothing wrong
- Ran DISM nothing found.
- Checked the registry: Start > Run > Regedit >

6. Windows was updated to the latest….so nothing found to update the OS
In my case settings were default-nothing changed.
Then went through all the way-out sited in YouTube. Nothing helped me.
Resolution:
At last I got this … downloaded the cab file and ran. It automatically fixed the problem. My Windows Security Center is now up and running.
