Windows Update 24H2 Query

Problem:

I have a question regarding the Windows Update 24H2 that is coming in September/October. What will happen if my hardware does not support this update? What I can already see is that my PC does not have an NPU processor. What happens when the update arrives? Will it be installed, or will the PC be unusable?

Resolution:

NPU stands for  Neural Processing Unit (NPU),it is a specialized processor designed to accelerate tasks related to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Unlike a general-purpose Central Processing Unit (CPU) that handles a wide range of tasks, NPUs are optimized for the specific computations involved in running artificial neural networks.

If your PC does not meet these requirements, your PC will still receive the update, but the new AI features requiring the NPU won’t be available.

You’ll continue using Windows 11 with the features you currently have.
