How to Fix WHEA fatal hardware error

WHEA stands for Windows Hardware Error Architecture.

There may be a myriad of causes behind this error:

  • Most common cause of WHEA fatal hardware errors. It can be a malfunctioning CPU, RAM, GPU, motherboard, power supply, or any other hardware component.
  • Outdated or incompatible device drivers can also lead to hardware errors. Make sure all your drivers, especially those for critical components like the GPU and chipset, are up to date.
  • A malfunctioning power supply can cause voltage fluctuations and result in hardware errors.
  • Make sure there is no over heating.
  • If you’re overclocking, revert your hardware to default settings and see if the error persists.

Fixing No Display

Problem:

The Power button is working, CPU fan is working but there is absolutely no display on monitor. How to fix?

Resolution:

If the Power button and CPU fan are working but you are not getting any display on monitor then turn off PC.

  • Check the power cable connecting to the monitor is tightly attached and in good condition. If the cable is okay then lets move to the next step of troubleshooting.
  • Open the cabinet and carefully unplug RAM from the socket.

After unplugging clean the RAM.The gold contacts of RAM modules must be clean and free of debris in order to maintain a solid connection. To clean use a tissue paper.

  • If cleaning doesn’t help then change the memory slot of RAM.
  • If required change the RAM.
  • Sometimes overheating may be an issue. In that case open the CPU, clean and put thermal paste. Attach the CPU fan.

Mouse issue: Copy-Paste Problem

Very recently I was facing a huge problem when trying to copy-paste. I observed that selecting text with  mouse was giving me a real headache. I was trying, retrying but it seemed that something was trying to slip away. After a number of attempts I was able to select the text followed by copy and paste.

So I started to investigate, it was happening in Edge, Firefox…so no luck. I searched in Bing and Google but this issue was not matching with their database.

And then I suddenly discovered the mouse was missing the posterior pad (red area)

Very simple and basic but makes a huge difference.
